Le Hien Minh

– is an interdisciplinary artist with a background in traditional lacquer from Ho Chi Minh City University of Fine Art and holds a BFA from the Art Academy of Cincinnati. She is recognized for her innovative use of traditional Vietnamese handmade paper called ‘Dó’ in creating large-scale installations. Her work examines issues related to politics, religion, and history, and she is a part of a critical generation that pioneered new directions in media, genre, and conceptual thinking in Vietnamese art.

Le Hien Minh’s artistic practice explores themes such as cultural identity, intersectionality, social reproduction, and Vietnamese diaspora. Through her work, Le Hien Minh strives to invent new ways to employ traditional materials within contemporary contexts. This approach has led to her work being exhibited internationally at major museums and galleries across Vietnam, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Finland, Germany, and the USA
